I walked in the door with my shopping bags and tried to sneakily make it to the bedroom before Gary saw just how many shopping bags I had.  Not that he cares how much I bought…but it helps soothe my buyers remorse if no one knows.  🙂  See…I’d had one of those shopping days where I was feeling extra trendy and thought I could pull off things that I most definitely should not be pulling off.

Enter…the red jeans.

I tried on these red jeans because…hey…who knows…they could be awesome.  Well it must have been something with the lighting in the dressing room or my lack of coffee that day…but I bought them.  As I started going through my purchases I decided I would give Gary a red jean fashion show.  I walked out of the bedroom ready to work the red jeans and Gary looked up from the TV…kind of tilted his head and said…”They’re very…Christmasy.”  Aaaaaaaand…it’s safe to say…that was the end of the red jeans.

Luckily not all my purchases were so…trendy.  I hopped on the sparkle wagon because…lately…I’ve been kind of obsessed with sparkles.  Maybe it’s the fact that New Years is slowly but surely closing in on us (yes I think about my outfits that far in advance).   Or maybe it’s the fact that they just add a little oomph to a dreary day.  And lately…it’s been dreary.  Either way…I’ve gone a little sparkle crazy.  So today on Fashion Friday it’s all about sparkles.

I’ll do sparkle any day! Especially if it makes you sparkle as a person!

We hadn’t even left the dressing room and the tears had started.  There’s something so beautiful about emotion so intense it can’t be kept inside.  As I sat in the chapel anxiously awaiting her arrival, the doors opened.  You could see Jimmy stand up a little straighter and prepare himself for what was about to happen.  In a matter of seconds he was going to see his future wife walk down the aisle.  As Jessica turned the corner, you could see the love in her eyes.  The tears were falling but instead of sadness…they were little drops of happiness.  Pure bliss.   She was about to marry the love of her life.   As they stood there saying their vows…both unable to get out more than a few words at a time…there was a sense of calmness in both of them.  It was their wedding day and excitement was all around them…but to them it was so much more.  It was the promise of a life together.  A moment where everything up until then was merely a stepping stone to lead them to this day.  To lead them to that very second where they said “I do” and nothing else mattered but them.  And their promise to love each other forever.  No matter what.

Jimmy and Jess…thank you so much for making me a part of your special day.  I will never forget it.  I love you guys more than you know and I can’t wait to see what this life has in store for you.

It’s the little things…

Mandalay Bay has a rule that you can’t photograph during the ceremony.  🙁  So I had to stop here.

But we picked back up right after.

I turn around from photographing the girls and this is what I see.  No joke.

I was completely shocked they let us take photos at a blackjack table.  Shocked and totally stoked!

I walked in the front door and Lisa…looking gorgeous as always…pulls a bottle of Champagne out of the fridge.  Getting your photos taken can be nerve-racking and she knew just how to calm her nerves.  We clinked glasses and reminisced over their engagement (more on that coming later).  See…Lisa and Eric are my kind of people.  They are hilarious…obviously incredibly happy…and they definitely know how to have a good time.  So whenever I get the chance to hang out with them it is always something I look forward to.  And this day was no different.  We had a blast leisurely exploring their Chicago neighborhood and laughing hysterically along the way.  Here’s a little peek of our day…

When Gary and I moved in together…our second bedroom became an office.  It was so exciting to have a place that was solely dedicated to work.  I love sitting on the couch as much as the next person…but truth be told I just don’t get as much done with crime shows calling my name in the background.  The first thing we did was paint it a very happy color (Delicious Melon to be exact) and get a lovely new desk…suitable for two people.  Well…that was three months ago.  My perfect office space has become a catch-all for camera equipment…to-be-folded laundry…and anything else we don’t want sitting around.  So today I am making an internet vow…to turn my storage room into something beautiful.

I have this idea for a montage wall.  A wall of things that make me happy…all framed and strategically placed.  Which would be mirrored by a shelf wall…where all the things sitting on my desk can now have a home.  So today on Fashion Friday…I’m putting these ideas in my head down on virtual paper.  It’s about time my office becomes a fashionable one.

Wall Montage, Frames, Wall Collage

Above my desk I plan to have wall to wall shelves with TONS of organization.  I’ll be sure to share the finished product…

Happy Fashion Friday!  I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing weekend.  I know I plan to!  🙂

I’m finally getting a chance to sit down after my whirlwind trip to Vegas where I got the chance to shoot the incredibly fun wedding of Jimmy and Jessica.  I love shooting weddings period…but you throw in some Blackjack, a few slot machines and an incredibly gorgeous couple…I’m one happy girl.  And there is no doubt…this is one happy couple.

Jimmy and Jessica…I hope you are having an amazing time in Mexico and celebrating all the happiness of yesterday!  Here’s a little peek of your big day.
