Yesterday I took the day off to get ready for a crazy week ahead.  I wore my pjs for incredibly too long.  I caught up on all my shows…then went into a minor depression realizing they are all coming to an end soon.  Come on summer TV…True Blood anyone??  I spent the evening with my best friends cooking dinner and laughing so hard I think my side still hurts.  It was perfect.  The best part was…there wasn’t one second where I felt like I should be doing something else.  Not one second where I was thinking about work or stress or my to-do lists.  Just a day for me.  If you ask me, we all need a few more days like that.

I’ll leave you with a little peek at Erica and Terry’s engagement session…so much more goodness to come.  🙂

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss to True Blood. But GAH these season finales are KILLING ME!ReplyCancel

Every once in a while I meet a couple that defines what it means to be meant for each other.  A couple that compliments each other in the best possible way and reminds me of all the reasons why I do what I do.  Justin and Jillian are that couple.  The love between them in palpable and literally spreads to everyone around them.  When I met Jillian for the first time…she literally glowed talking about the day she was going to become Mrs. Walker.  And Justin just stared at her…listening to her talk over every detail…with a look of absolute adoration on his face.  She was his…and he knew how lucky that made him.

Last weekend I got to be a small part of a very big day in their lives.  Every single detail was meticulously perfect.   The dress…the antique dinner plates…the burlap table runners…everything was impeccable.  But nothing was more perfect than the fact that Justin and Jillian were becoming husband and wife.  The fact that this was the beginning of their forever.  From that point on it was just them…together… exactly as it was supposed to be.

Blog world…meet Mr. and Mrs. Walker…

  • […] Recently I had the opportunity to second shoot for my friend, Lauren, of Lauren Wakefield Photography. I’ve enjoyed getting to know her over the past year or so and it was so fun to shoot with her for the day! We worked with a super sweet couple, Jill and Justin, who got married in an awesome barn with SO many fun details. These two wanted their guests to have a great time and they went above and beyond to make sure that they did. If you’re interested in checking out the full post on Lauren’s blog, you can do so here. An antique store they frequent…their favorite coffee shop…the bar where they had their first date…the sidewalk where they shared their first kiss.  These are the places Jen and Mark wanted to take their engagement photos.  They may not be the most picturesque backgrounds.  But they meant something.  Special.  These spots were unique…just like them.  As we walked around from spot to spot, they told me the story of their first date.  And their first kiss.  They told me about how they stood outside their cars strategically delaying the inevitable goodnight.  How Jen waited…and waited for Mark to finally kiss her.  And he did.  Without knowing that would be his last first kiss.  And the first one of the rest of his life.

When I think about Jen and Mark…one of a kind comes to mind.  They fit together perfectly in every way yet they each are as individual as they come.  Everything about them…including their wedding…is absolutely original.  And I love that about them. Without further adieu…Mark and Jen…

What do cowboy boots, peanut butter and jelly and burlap have in common??  The official start of wedding season!  Yesterday kicked off what is going to be a crazy summer and it was nothing short of amazing.  If my imagination created the perfect couple and threw their wedding…this would be it.  Every detail was impecable and the day unfolded beautifully.  Throw in a gorgeous couple that can’t get enough of each other and you have perfection.  Here’s a little peek at yesterday’s fabulousness…

At the risk of sounding cliche…TGIF.   Maybe it’s the fact that I’m road tripping it back to Indianapolis today with my best friend….but something about this particular Friday has me feeling slightly nostalgic.  Remember Fridays as a kid?  They were full of bus passes and sleepovers.  Pj parties and the world’s best TV lineup.  Boy Meets World…Family Matters…Full House…Step by Step.  I mean does it get any better than that?  I remember staying up way past my bed time, eating Donato’s pizza and waiting to see if Cory and Topanga would get back together.  Those were the days…

Today…I’m heading to Indianapolis today to enjoy a little down time before I officially kick off wedding season.  While I don’t need a bus pass and Friday nights look a little different…TGIF will always stay the same.

I’ll leave you with a little teaser of what’s coming next week…Mark and Jen.

Happy Friday!
