I stood on the stairs of the split level church listening to them.  She was downstairs putting on the finishing touches…and he was upstairs anxiously awaiting the first time he would see his gorgeous bride.  They were talking back and forth…poking fun…and saying one last ‘I love you’ before they became husband and wife.  In all the hustle and bustle…excitement and scurry…they took the time to stop and just say hello.

When it comes to Travis and Katie…it isn’t grand gestures and bold statements that make them so perfect together…it’s the little things.  The glances across the room all night long.  The way he would pull her in for a kiss when she wasn’t expecting it.  Or even his impeccable serenade of Bieber’s, Baby, Travis so skillfully performed.  They all make up the little pieces of a perfect day.  A day that was bursting with friends, family and more fun than I even know how to describe.  Travis and Katie…from day one you’ve made me feel like part of your family and I can’t thank you enough for that.  You guys are truly special and I wish you absolute happiness.

Let’s be honest…I’ve put together a lot fo cute outfits on Polyvore over the years and babbled on and on about fashion.  I like to think I actually wear these outfits every day but the truth is…I don’t.  I wish I did.  But I don’t.  From time to time I’m proud of the ensemble I put together but on a given Tuesday…it’s not exciting.  And I also feel like outfits on Polyvore are becoming less and less…well…exciting.  So Fashion Friday is evolving.  We’re hitting the streets.  Real life.  Real people rocking out the fashions I love.  I can’t promise it will always be me…but on the days I pull it together I may make an appearance.

Today I’m kicking off the brand new Fashion Friday with my smiling face.  It’s no secret that I love maxi dresses…but thanks to my incredibly fashionable bride/friend Amanda, I am now a proud new owner of a maxi skirt.  And I am lovin’ it.’

Maxi skirt, Fashion friday

***Update.  My skirt is from Marshalls.  $24.99! Woot!  Shirt is from Target and belt is from Target too I think.  Bracelet is from H&M.

And to be fair…I completely copied Amanda’s outfit from our session earlier this week.  So I must give credit where credit is due…

I’ll be getting my country on this weekend…so you better believe I’ll be bringing the cowboy boots next week.

I’d love to hear you thoughts on the evolution of Fashion Friday.  Love it?  Hate it?  Could care less…  😉  Have a great weekend!

Obviously I love this. I’d so much rather see you than a fashion board! And if you’re ever not feeling a photo, you should totally photograph fashion you like on the street, paparazzi style lol!!ReplyCancel

    LOVE both of your skirts!!ReplyCancel

Maybe it’s because I was there for their proposal…or because they are two of the most sincere people I’ve ever met…but Matt and Erin make my heart smile.  I know that sounds cheesy…but they just do.   When you spend time with them there is this undeniable bond that anyone can see.  I don’t know that I’ve ever seen two people fit together so perfectly…and so completely.  They are best friends…meant to be…two-of-a-kind.  However you say it the truth is simple…they are perfect for each other.   You can see the comfort they bring to each other and how perfectly content they are just being.  Together.

Their wedding day was no different.  All the nerves in the world couldn’t mask the excitement they had to to make this thing official.  To live life hand in hand…side by side and take on the world together.  Matt and Erin…I feel like old friends by this point.  🙂  Thank you so much for bringing me into your lives and allowing me to get to know a truly extraordinary couple.  Your life will be nothing short of remarkable…I just know it.  Tell Max I said hi.  🙂

A normal Saturday for me may consist of a wedding…or an engagement session…or lounging around with a hot cup of coffee and some homemade brunch.  It might include a little cleaning…or a good work out.  And if I’m really lucky…I’ll get to sleep in….in the rain…with the windows open.  Oooooh…perfection.  But this Saturday?  This Saturday is anything but normal.  This Saturday I am getting up at the crack of dawn and walking almost 40 miles.  No that was not a typo…40 long grueling miles in the Avon walk for breast cancer.  The funny thing is, I did this same walk about 4 years ago and swore to myself I would never do it again.  No way jose.  Walking may not seem hard…but trust me…it is.  Really really hard.  Last time my best friend and I ended up wrapped in foil blankets because I’m pretty sure our bodies were in shock.  Definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done…and tomorrow…I’m going to do it again.  Along with Gary, my mom  and my best friends…we are going to somehow make it through all 40.  With the help of a lot of band-aids, tween hits…and a little thing we like to call the jammy pack.  I’ll let you google that one.

If you know me by now…you know whatever I do I’m going to have to have the perfect outfit.  So here is Fashion Friday…in all it’s grueling glory.

Avon Walk, 40 miles, Avon walk fashion, what to wear

Last time we camped between day 1 and 2.  Bad. Idea.  This year…we smartened up and will be coming home to a comfy couch and a hot bath.  And ice packs…and jammies.  And ice cream.  🙂

One word for Day 2…Starbucks.  Lots of Starbucks.

Avon Walk, 40 miles, Avon walk fashion, what to wear

Wish us luck.  Hopefully I will still have the use of my legs come Monday.  I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Happy Fashion Friday!

What a weekend!  I had my first double header and while I am more than exhausted…it was amazing.  I tend to get on what I like to call a “wedding high” after weddings.  I leave a wedding almost giddy and so happy for the couple…excited about the whole day…and incredibly thankful that this is my job.  You get that twice in one weekend and this is one happy girl.  I took the day off yesterday to sleep-in, regain feeling in my back and relax.  But today I am ready to get back to it.  So here is a little peek at my wedding filled weekend.
