Fashion Friday: Amy

I don’t know about you but I am extremely excited it’s Friday! I’ve had quite a bit of down time over the last few weeks and I am so ready to get back into wedding mode. Gary and I are heading to Peoria, IL this weekend to shoot our friends, Lisa and Eric’s, wedding. Well…I’ll be shooting and Gary will be enjoying himself…and likely busting a move on the dance floor. I don’t know what it is but the fact that Gary is going with me takes so much of the stress and nervousness away. Yes…I get nervous before every. single. wedding. I’ve just decided it’s a good thing. Keeps me on my toes. Nonetheless…this Friday…and weekend are shaping up to be pretty great. So far these are the reasons why…

1. It’s Friday

2. Gary and I are going on a road tip. Which means gas station candy. Score!

3. Lisa and Eric are getting married tomorrow…which literally makes me giddy.

4. Staying in Peoria = hotel = breakfast in bed! It’s the little things.

5. Fashion Friday is branching out…Amy is gracing your screen today with her maxi hotness.

Gesi + Leo : Engaged

I don’t know what it is…but something about them is so innocent. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re high school sweethearts. Or maybe it’s the palpable giddiness you can feel when you’re around them. Whatever it is…it’s perfect. Being around Gesi and Leo is like being around two kids in love. Their faces glow when they look at each other and you can feel how much they love each other. Literally with every ounce. It’s definitely not something you see every day.

I’ve known Gesi for a while now…but knowing her with Leo just makes sense. They make sense. If their wedding day is anything like their engagement session…it is going to be one for the books. Gesi and Leo…the countdown is on. I can’t wait to watch you guys make this thing official. I don’t know if there has ever been two people more perfect for each other.

Gesi! You are so gorgeous!!!!!!!!

Leo had a violinist play while he proposed. And we just happened to stumble upon another one…it was fate.

Leo has no problem making her laugh…

Oh hello trolley…

Featured: Style Me Pretty

This has been a good week to say the least. Which is a bit funny seeing as it started out with a melt down. Sometimes that’s what it takes to put it all in perspective. On Tuesday morning I woke up bright and early knowing my niece was on her way. Only to open to my inbox and see an email that I was having a wedding featured on Style Me Pretty. Being my first wedding feature I was a little excited to say the least. I did a little happy dance but more than anything I was so excited for Justin and Jillian. They literally poured their heart and soul into their wedding and I just felt so happy for them. And so grateful that they chose me to capture it all. They deserved this so much and it just adds on to my week of happiness. So head on over and check out their feature…and leave them a little love. And if you’re lucky enough to be friends with them…you’ll understand why these two hold such a special place in my heart.

I’m off for some Auntie bonding time. Love that little peanut….

Fashion Friday : White Jeans

Whenever couples ask me what to wear for engagement sessions the first thing I suggest is white jeans. I feel like they photograph so well and they look good on everyone. They’re trendy but not too trendy. They can be paired with umpteen million things. They are all around just a good pair of jeans to own. Last fall I went on the hunt for the perfect pair of white jeans. And let me tell you…they are hard to find. This was before there were white jeans at every store and their mother. I looked high and low and finally found the perfect pair. Only to lose weight (which I’m not complaining about) and they now don’t fit. But with a little help from the magic As Seen on TV Perfect Fit Button and the right top…I am making them work. That is at least until I can find a new perfect pair. 🙂

Gary is still learning the back button focus thing…but you at least get the idea.

Please forgive my messy house…it’s busy season. 🙂

Amanda + Chris : Engaged (part 2)

Last February I got an email from one of my favorite grooms. Let me start by saying I had already done engagement photos for this particular couple and at the time we had thrown around a lot of different ideas for locations. Amanda, the bride, really wanted to do photos by a barn but also wanted to capture the fall colors at the Morton Arboretum. Long story short…there was so much fall goodness at the Arboretum that we never made it to the barn. So back to the email. Valentine’s Day was fast approaching and this email pops up:

Dearest bestest wedding photographer,

How are you? We have missed hanging out. I dont get to keep up with you on pintrest and facebook, i feel like i am missing out on everything. THANK GOD FOR THE BLOG.

I have been putting together some gift ideas for amanda for V-day. Tiffany’s aside, i thought of asking you to shoot us in front of a barn or in a field of daffodils sometime in the spring. I know that would be a thoughtful sweet memory for her and I…and score big points of course. let me know your thoughts…

Missing you and Gary…tell gary i have been using my pins at my new job!! I HAVE BEEN PINNNNNNNNING!!!!!!

How could I possibly say no?!?! And to top it all off…he made her this card for Valentine’s Day. Yes you heard me right…he made it.

Is that not the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen? So last week we found ourselves a barn and some nice glowy light and took some Valentine’s Day photos. I love Amanda and Chris to death…but more than anything I love how much photos mean to them. It makes my job very rewarding.

Amanda and Chris…I could write about how great you guys are but you already know what I think about that. We’ll be best friends forever…I just know it. 🙂

Chris…so sassy. 🙂

I’d say she has the sm-eyes down….
