When you’re a photographer…rain can be your worst enemy. You watch the weather like it’s a some epic action movie… just waiting for that chance of precipitation to go from 51% to 49%. Pacing around the house…watching the clouds. Deciding if you should make the call or wait it out. It’s endless torture. When Hillary, Casey and I first scheduled their photos…the rain was not on our side. All day the sky was full of impending doom and may radar app was getting it’s 99 cents worth. It was sprinkling a little but we decided to chance it. Maybe…just maybe mother nature would be on our side.
The drive to Lincoln Park looked promising. No rain. And the sky was looking a little brighter. As soon as we met up….I mean the second they walked up…it started raining. First a drizzle. Then a sprinkle. Then a full on downpour. So we stood there…sad faced…flipping through our calendars accepting mother nature’s defeat.
While that evening wasn’t ideal. Our second try ended up to be the perfect Chicago summer night. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just perfect. So while rain and I may be arch enemies…I guess good things come to those who wait.
