As a wedding photographer…what to wear is always a big question. When shooting a wedding you have to think about functionality, comfort, sweat resistance, and more than anything…professionalism. When you have a client meeting you have to represent yourself in a professional way while still staying true to who you are as a person and a brand. It can be very exhausting trying to find the perfect outfit for all the different situations you might find yourself in. The way we present ourselves is so incredibly important and sometimes it can be a tad bit overwhelming. So today on Fashion Friday I’m breaking down a day in the life of a wedding photographer. These are my picks for the most common situations I find myself in.
Client meetings. Your first in-person impression…make it count.
Engagement sessions. This obviously depends a lot on the season…but it’s a chance to be more casual but still cute and put together.
The big day. What to wear on the wedding day is usually the biggest headache. You want to be comfortable but still stylish and sophisticated. You will most likely be sweating and standing in all sorts of odd positions. I always go for a stretchy dress and something with pockets. Pockets are my best friend.
Working from home. Can I get a fist bump on how awesome working from home is!!! (I’m not working from home full time but the few weeks I have have been glorious!) I think this is what photographers like to call business casual. Yoga pants…slippers…and a hot cup of coffee. Absolute perfection.
And because this photographer will one day be rocking this next outfit…I had to include it. A girl can dream. 🙂
Happy Fashion Friday!!!! Who wants to go shopping now??
